What is accredited mediation training?
With the exception of the specialist field of family mediation, mediation training is relatively unregulated, so it’s important to choose the right provider. Our mediation training is accredited, meaning that it meets quality standards for the following:
- Content – that learning outcomes have been identified.
- Delivery – that subject matter has been demonstrated and backed up with evidence or examples.
- Learner achievement – that learners have taken the subject matter on board and are able to apply it in their professional environment.
- Verification – that the training is both internally and externally verified.
We are accredited by the Open College Network (OCN), which sets among the highest standards available. However, like all accreditation bodies, they are not subject experts. So our courses are also recognised by the Law Society as part of the Continual Professional Development programme for lawyers, and by the College of Mediators which is beginning to develop its own programmes with the intention of these becoming the industry standard.
This combination of accreditation and recognition means you can be sure that our programmes are up to date and consistent with the highest professional standards. We have over 20 years’ experience in mediation and are one of the largest mediation practices in the UK.
